Her residential work has been published in the Home section of The New York Times and in several magazines including Interior Design, House Beautiful and House and Garden. Making Space, Residential Interiors, The Complete Home Office, and Home Styling are a few of the books that present her work. She has appeared on Good Morning America as an expert in home office design and on the television program Interiors by Design. Joan is a magna cum laude graduate of Smith College and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She has a master's certificate from the Hans Kreiks Masterclass in Interior Design and has taught interior construction at The Parsons School of Interior Design. She is listed in the 21st edition of Who's Who in the East and Who's Who in American Women. & Cally Kallenberg Trained by her mother, Joan Halperin, Cally grew up with interior design "in her genes." Although, an art history major at Northwestern University and further studies at the Chicago Institute of Art, she was soon lured away by Wall Street. Opportunities at Oppenheimer and Sanford Bernstein, and then at Credit Suisse in San Francisco, were hard to resist. Motherhood brought Cally back to the interior design world. She worked with Joan Halperin in New York, and then moved to Chicago where she worked for Robyn Shapiro Design and then opened her own practice. Her innate ability to home in on clients' needs, a quick sense of humor and design sensibility have contributed to her success as a designer. Among Cally's projects were several model apartments and high-end residences, including a 5500 square foot residence in the newly converted Palmolive Building and a Tudor mansion. Now in Los Angeles, Cally and Joan are partners in JH&, bringing her knowledge of resources, project management and client relation skills to the firm. In addition, her connoisseurship of art and her impeccable sense of style add a luxurious counterpoint to Joan's clean, modern aesthetic. This mother/daughter, east coast/west coast synergy works beautifully to their clients benefit.
